Tatra valleys

Relaxing routes

Family hiking in the Tatra Mountains is a must for Zakopane holidays. The two most famous routes – to Morskie Oko and Kościeliska Valley – are perfectly prepared even for less experienced tourists, including families with children

Morskie Oko

49.197125° N, 20.070092° E

The trip to Morskie Oko is a classic. A wide, asphalt road leads among mountains and forests, and along the way you can stop at the “Wanta” hostel or enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride. The lake itself is stunning – its mirror-like surface reflects the peaks of the High Tatras, creating one of the most beautiful views in Poland. It is a perfect place for a picnic, photos and a moment of silence.

Koscieliska Valley

49.249914° N, 19.866581° E

The Kościeliska Valley, on the other hand, captivates with its nature and diversity. Here you can visit caves (Mroźna, Smoczą or Mylnia), drink water from the Ice Spring and meet a flock of sheep grazing on the mountain pasture. It is a trail that draws children into the world of mountain stories and legends.

Both places are Zakopane attractions ideal for families – they combine movement, nature and shared experiences. The Tatras really are best enjoyed when they are discovered together.
