Treasures of the region
The Tytus Chałubiński Tatra Museum is one of the oldest regional museums in Poland and a real treasury of knowledge about Podhale. It is an excellent opportunity for families to learn about the history of the region and the culture of the highlanders in an accessible, interesting way.
A story about people
The exhibitions depict the life of the former inhabitants of the Tatra Mountains – their costumes, tools, sculptures, photographs and handicrafts. Children often look with fascination at traditional sleds, skis from a century ago or musical instruments that can still be heard in highland inns.
The museum regularly organises educational workshops, meetings and temporary exhibitions, so that every visit can be different. It is a place that combines history, culture and education – right in the heart of Zakopane, at Krupówki.
For families with children, the Tatra Museum is a great option on a colder day when the weather is not conducive to walks. It allows you to travel back in time and understand how unique Podhale culture is. It is not just a museum – it is a story about people who have lived in the shadow of the Tatra Mountains for generations, in harmony with nature and their own traditions.
